Barcelona’s best XI so far this season

You might be wondering where Messi is at in this starting line up. The answer is that Barcelona is doing just fine without him. When he came back his coach has been resting him and using him as a substitute. Ansu Fati has filled in the right side for Messi and he’s only 16 years old. He has scored twice and made one assist in 5 appearances. Fati scored his first goal against Osasuna also following up with another goal and an assist against Valencia.

Barcelona’s best starting XI this season

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has had an okay start to the season. He has played all 8 games into the season and even assisting for his team. He’s performing well and creating good saves so far. The one and only Gerard Pique has played all 8 games this season. Lenglet has been performing poorly and has also been sent off in the game against Getafe. At right back Nelson Semedo has been a stud and has even had to play left back due to injuries to Jordi Alba and Junior Firpo. Alba is arguably one of the best left backs in the world. He’s been showing good performance in the 4 games he has played.

Barcelona signed Frankie de Jong from Ajax in the summer and the 22 year old has settled in well in his new team being included in the starting line up. He has formed a good chemistry with Arthur and Sergio in the midfield. Arthur being the most impressive of the trio scoring twice and assisting three times in 5 appearances. Messi will not make the best XI as he has only played three times and one of those times being a substitute. The 16 year old Ansu Fati has been performing amazing and has only made 5 appearances. Antoine Griezmann will start on the left side already scoring three goals and assisted two goals in the 7 appearances. Luis Suarez has scored 4 goals starting at striker.
